Gualtiero Burzi was born in Alessandria, Italy, and moved to Turin to study acting at Teatro Stabile di Torino, one of the most prestigious drama school of Italy. He graduated in 2000. He studied Lee Strasberg’s “Method” with Geraldine Baron and Elizabeth Kemp and attended the workshops of the Venice Theater Biennale with international masters such as Declan Donnellan and Lluis Pasqual. After that, he was living between Turin and Rome for ten years working for several National Theatres directed by important directors including: Luca Ronconi, Giancarlo Cobelli, Franco Però, Mauro Avogadro, Antonio Sixty, Veronica Cruciani. In the last few years, he has been involved in several films and television works. For the Italian television productions, he was directed by Gianluca Tavarelli, Michele Soavi, Carlo Lizzani, Giacomo Campiotti, Maurizio Zaccaro, Giuseppe Gagliardi, Daniele Vicari, among others. For cinema he worked with Italian directors such as: Edoardo Leo, Max Croci, Eros Puglielli, Fabio Resinaro and Emanuele Giliberti, among others. He took part to ‘The Eight Mountains’, film directed by Felix Van Groeningen and Charlotte Vandermeersch, which has been selected in competition in 2022 Cannes Film Festival. In the last five years he has been casted for International productions in English language like: Medici: The Magnificent, I May Destroy You and a Show Time TV series.
