James Trewin – British

Classically trained at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, James is a British actor based in Bristol. They are a quirky character; whose strengths lie in comedic roles. They are also confident in improv, having come from a Meisner background.

Most recently, James appeared as Lavrenti in Bertolt Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle at The Tobacco Factory, directed by West End’s Jesse Jones. Their training credits also include Tuzenbakh in The Three Sisters, Mercutio in Romeo and Juliet, and Elliot from Coward’s Private Lives.

During their time at BOVTS, James was privileged to learn from a barrage of incredible actors and directors such as Paul Clarkson and Jacquie Crago. They also obtained an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University where they studied under the legendary Ann Woodworth.

They are certified in a number of stage combat weapons, so they can’t wait to be a wisecracking Jedi in an inevitable upcoming Star Wars movie. James has played a number of musical instruments from a very young age, including violin, guitar, and drums.

James also enjoys working behind the camera, with their most recent short film Clear Gold screening at 7 film festivals internationally, and they are currently in pre-production creating an animated comedy series.
