Madara Kanele – Latvian

Madara Kanele is originally from Riga, Latvia. After High School, she received a full scholarship to study Performing Arts in the USA. After graduating from Frostburg State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Acting/Theatre along with the Departmental Theatre and Dance Excellence Award she had the chance to spend the summer with the Contemporary American Theatre Festival and after that spent the rest of the year in NYC, where she received her first role in an Off-Broadway theatre production called “Twelve Angry Women” at Roy Arias Theatre.

Later on she moved back to Latvia and continued to gain experience there working as a professional actress. After some years spent in Latvia and appearing in few Musical Theatre productions, she decided to gain more training in Musical Theatre and moved to London to study one year at the International College of Musical Theatre and has been living and working in London ever since.

During her time in London, she started to develop a passion for acting on screen. At first starting as a background and walk-on artist to gain experience, and appearing as a lead in student film productions and some featured roles on TV ads and now recently filmed her first role in an upcoming Bollywood Feature film “Hey Kem Chho London” (Welcome to London).

Besides Acting, Madara speaks three languages fluently- Latvian, English and Russian. She also has basic knowledge of German. Madara has a Music School Diploma as a classical pianist and loves to sing. She has sung in different choirs (was a singer in Riga Gospel Choir for many years), has participated in singing and dance competitions and also loves to write music and lyrics in her free time. She is a very good skater (used to train with Latvian women’s ice-hockey team “Laima”) and is overall is very athletic as been playing many different sports and has a very good knowledge about the physical aspects of the body and knows her body very well. Madara is a very good mover and has had training in ballet, tap dance, jazz and hip hop. Has a charming personality, takes directions very well and overall is a very pleasant and fun person to be around and work with. Regularly takes lessons like singing lessons, dance lessons, practices different accents and gets involved in different masterclasses to continue developing her skills, loves to read books, especially the ones that involves the subjects of psychology and psychotherapy and is an owner of two beautiful Maine Coon cats.
