Born in a small town in Sardinia, Mattia developed his love for acting from the moment he could speak his first words. When he was twenty years old, he began acting in Tuscany, where he crossed paths with Luca Biagiotti, a director from Teatro Verdi di Pisa and the founder of Prima del Teatro – European School for the actor.
Luca Biagiotti introduced him to the world of acting, to luminaries like Peter Brook, Shakespeare, Meisner, and even to an imaginary horse named Bessie, whom he had to care for and walk for weeks.
After this fateful encounter, he decided it was time to embark on his acting journey in London. In no time, he found work at some of the most prestigious fast-food venues while he was still mastering the English language.
Once he gained proficiency in English, he joined the National Youth Theatre, attended numerous private classes and workshops in London, and eventually secured a place at East 15 acting school. At East 15, he had the privilege of performing on renowned stages such as the Globe stage, Le Crazy Coq, and the Corbett Theatre.
Following his graduation, he dedicated himself to further studies in screen acting, with special thanks to the guidance of the wonderful director David Penn. He also ventured into stand-up comedy, playwriting, and, ultimately, clowning.
He completed his clowning training at Ecole Philippe Gaulier in France, refining his skills further with Spymonkey, where he had the opportunity to meet his mentor, Aitor Basauri.
After a successful run at the fringe, he and his mates are bringing the show “A Night of Drama” to London. It’s a farcical melodrama improv show where audience members are even encouraged to throw banana peels at the performers.
Additionally, he is currently in the process of devising his own clowning show, which is expected to be ready for the summer of 2024.
On top of all this, he takes great pride in his busy career as a headshot and stage photographer.
