Tameka Vahatau – New Zealander / Pacific Islander

Tameka Vahatau is an actor, voice artist and multi-disciplinary creative. She was the first Niuean female acting graduate of the prestigious Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School, and has built a dynamic career balancing creative expression with production logistics on local and international productions including ‘Shadow in the Cloud’, ‘Guns Akimbo’, ‘Mulan’, ‘Punch’, ‘Savage’ and ‘Morning Hate’. Tameka began her career performing in arena shows with the globally acclaimed ‘World of Wearable Arts Awards’, and has toured Oceania with sell-out theatre productions alongside some of NZ’s leading Pacifica practitioners, including Nathaniel Lees with ‘Fale Sa’, and The Conch’s ‘Masi’. She refined her Physical theatre skills with the company as a leading puppeteer, specialising in Object Animation and Black Art Illusion under UK’s Paul Kieve and Austria’s Rebekah Wild. On screen, Tameka has appeared in some of NZ’s most beloved series from ‘Pot Luck’ to ‘Shortland Street’ with guest appearances on ‘Viva La Dirt League’s’ comedy channel and award-winning dramatic feature ‘Black Sea Golden Ladder’. She has voiced campaigns across the globe for company’s including Domino’s, Anytime Fitness, Spark, White Haven Wines, Stanford University, Air Chathams, and for games  ‘Path of Exile’ and a highly anticipated project with Sassy Chap Games.
